Quanzhou Ancient City, historically known as Wenling, Ciqin, and Licheng, is located in Licheng District, Quanzhou City, Fujian. Renowned as the “Coastal Zou Lu” and the “City of Literature,” its construction began during the prosperous Tang Dynasty and expanded continuously through the Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties, fueled by the prosperity of overseas transportation and foreign trade.
During the Song and Yuan periods, Ciqin Port’s maritime trade activities were unprecedentedly flourishing, with a forest of masts and ships from myriad nations, leaving behind a bustling scene described as “merchants from a thousand countries amidst the surging sea” and “people from ten continents in the marketplace.”

A millennium later, the core area of this historical and cultural city, the ancient city, still retains a wealth of historical relics and a well-preserved urban texture. These “living memories” allow people to look back on the brilliant past and feel the long history and cultural accumulation of this thousand-year-old city.

The ancient city is open all year round, accessible 24/7. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.
