Introduction: Yar Hutong belongs to Shichahai Sub-district, Xicheng District. It starts from Xiaoshibei Hutong in the southeast and is connected to Yandai Xiejie. It extends to Ganlu Hutong in the northwest. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was called Yan’er Hutong and was located along the northern shore of Houhai. In the Ming Dynasty, it was called Guanghua Temple Street. In the Qing Dynasty, taking the homophonic sound of Yan’er Hutong, it was called Yar Hutong. No. 6 courtyard in the hutong is the former residence of Xiao Jun. The east end of Yar Hutong is a very famous stone bridge in Beijing – Yinding Bridge. The entire Yar Hutong winds westward along the northern shore of Shichahai, parallel to the northern shore of Houhai and extends to Ganlu Hutong on the western shore of Houhai.
