Yongding River Leisure Forest Park is located in Shijingshan District, Beijing, close to Lianshi West Road. Opened in 2013, it covers an area of 1,210,000 square meters. The park features main entrance areas, Yongding River Cultural Square, riverside scenic belts, and top ten attractions such as Zhenshui Cow, Shi Ba Deng, and Haitang Valley. It embellishes the rich cultural connotations of the Yongding River basin with sculptures, stone tablets, and scenic walls. A variety of flowers and trees are planted in an orderly fashion. The park has repurposed a 2.3-kilometer Shougang slag railway line into a sightseeing road and introduced the ‘Yongding’ antique steam sightseeing train and railway bicycles. The train is 27 meters long and can carry 72 passengers. It operates for 18 minutes per trip, allowing citizens to take the train to enjoy flowers, view lakes, and overlook the Garden Expo Park from across the river. At the West Gate Square of the Forest Park, single and double row bicycles have been introduced. Visitors can use bicycles as a means of transportation to tour the park’s landscapes, exercising their bodies while enjoying pleasant scenery. The park is open all year round from 06:00 to 20:00. Essential Tips: The temperature inside the park is 2-3 degrees lower than outside. It is cold in winter, so it is not recommended to visit.
