Jindao Gorge is located in Jindao Gorge Town, Beibei District, Chongqing, and is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The main attractions include Cangdao Cave, Zhongxia Natural Bathing Area, Shi Tou Gorge, and Maitreya Buddha. The scenic area is characterized by its perilous gorges, majestic mountains, beautiful waters, numerous waterfalls, and clear pools. Jindao Gorge is divided into upper and lower sections; the upper section is filled with ravines and canyons, with clear streams everywhere; the lower section has many caves and deep pools, with waterfalls cascading down.
The gorge is nearly 10 kilometers long, with most of the plank roads built along the cliffs, and along the way, there are mountain springs and waterfalls. Jindao Gorge, full of wild charm, is also one of the important outdoor adventure bases in Chongqing. The valley exploration and creek descent competitions have become a unique outdoor adventure activity in Chongqing’s canyons, attracting a large number of tourists to participate. The entire area is open year-round from 08:30 to 16:00.
