The Huangge Ancient Road is a very famous ancient road in Chongqing. It has a history of 800 years. It was once a must-pass place for merchants from Sichuan and Guizhou in past dynasties and is known as the ‘Silk Road’ of Chongqing. This ancient road began in the Tang Dynasty and was in its heyday in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It is one of the 12 scenic spots in Bayu. Until the mid-1970s, this ancient road was still a major transportation route.
In the late 1980s, this place was no longer a road for people to be busy making a living. After a few years of brief silence, this ancient road once again welcomed a prosperous popularity.
