The Three Gorges Yuanxiang Scenic Area is located in the heartland of Yizitang, Huilong Village, Xinglong Town, Fengjie County, approximately 50 kilometers away from the county town. The scenic area covers a total area of 823 acres and is characterized by typical karst landforms. Within the scenic area, there are two huge cliffs standing 610 meters high and 420 meters wide, facing each other with a towering mountain range, resembling a stone gate split open.
It is referred to by the geological community as the world’s largest ‘mountain gate’ and is locally known as the ‘dry Kuimen’ due to its striking resemblance to the Chinese landscape gate ‘Kui Men’. The Three Gorges Yuanxiang Scenic Area boasts the ‘dry Kuimen’, which is a collection of ‘short, strange, beautiful, and secluded’ features, forming an entity with the Maze River Scenic Area. The scenic area successfully opened on July 1, 2020, and was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction in April 2021.The scenic area emphasizes the pastoral characteristics of ‘original mountains, original waters, original home, and original flavor, with strong local affection and neighborly relations’, highlighting the rural experience of ‘appreciating the original ecological beauty, staying in original residents’ inns, eating original taste food, and enjoying the original rural life’. It has uniquely developed leisure experience projects such as the colorful flower fields, nine-turn flower steps, flower aunt station, flower bar, peach grove cellar, pastoral song bakery, cow dream workshop, happy lawn, parent-child pasture, wandering trails, and boundless pools, allowing visitors to marvel at the work of ghosts and gods, appreciate strange peaks and rocks; walk through green mountains and people’s homes, eat original taste food; explore the depths of the peach source, stay in homestay inns; play with the falling flowers of the stream, and enjoy the secluded and beautiful waters.
