Caiyun Lake is located at the junction of Jiulongpo District and High-tech Zone in Chongqing City, with a total area of 83.1 hectares. It is constructed in districts by Jiulongpo District and High-tech Zone (40 hectares). This place was originally a stinky pond surrounded by the city and has now become a beautiful landscape. To fit the artistic conception, the main style of Caiyun Lake Park is ‘three-dimensional wetland’, forming a combination of streams, ponds, and terraced fields, and unfolding the wetland on the facade.
The streams and lakes here mainly refer to Taohuaxi River and Caiyun Lake, and the terraced fields refer to the clear water purification system by the lake. A large number of weeping willows, metasequoias, peach trees, etc. will also be planted by the lake. Caiyun Lake Reservoir is a relatively large artificial wetland in the main city. Caiyun Lake Park is planned into five seemingly separate but interconnected functional areas: natural landscape area, mainly an artificial lake body constructed using the existing Taohuaxi River water system; Jiulongba cultural and leisure landscape area, providing tourism, entertainment and leisure supporting services; sports and leisure area, with settings such as football, tennis, swimming pools, etc. ; waterfront landscape area; and wetland natural demonstration area, which will create a rare wetland landscape in the city around the Taohuaxi River water body. In the wetland park, more than 50,000 plants have begun to play a silt removal function. The park has become a travel place for citizens to enjoy free leisure vacations, sports and fitness, tourism outings, and popularization of natural sciences.
