The Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea Exhibition Hall is a specialized museum dedicated to the study and display of the history of the Korean independence movement. Established in Shanghai in April 1919, it was relocated to Chongqing in March, serving as the only foreign government-in-exile in China during World War II. The current location of the museum was the site of the highest authority of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea during its time in China. Five restored exhibition buildings, primarily constructed with brick and wood, have largely restored the appearance of the Korean Provisional Government’s office site based on the original architecture. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00; it is closed all day on Mondays. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.
