Qian Mu’s Former Residence, also known as ‘Sushu Building’, was the residence of the master of Chinese studies, Mr. Qian Mu, during his lifetime. It is located within the campus of Soochow University in Taipei. The residence was Mr. Qian’s dwelling in Taiwan starting from 1967. Every brick and stone in the residence is a testament to Mr. Qian’s years of dedication.
Now, Qian Mu’s Former Residence operates as a memorial hall for Mr. Qian. The hall contains his former lecture hall, study room, and living quarters. Friends interested in Chinese studies are invited to visit the memorial hall of this great master. The hall is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-17:00, all year round; it is closed on Mondays and public holidays.

Essential Tips:


1. Smoking, eating, shouting, running, bringing pets or dangerous items are strictly prohibited in the hall; please cooperate with the staff’s guidance and maintain the order and cleanliness of the hall.


2. Please take care of the displayed cultural relics in the hall; anyone who damages the exhibits or related facilities will be held responsible for compensation.


3. Children under ten years old must be accompanied by an adult for the visit.


4. No photography or video recording is allowed in the hall without permission.
