Tianchi Palace, established in 1873 AD, has a history of over a century, making it a true century-old temple. It enshrines Kai Zhang Shengwang, who was originally from Henan and was ordered to pacify the Fujian and Guangdong regions in 686 AD, earning him the posthumous title of Kai Zhang Shengwang. Local gentry from Keelung, Bai Fan, You Jitang Lian Xin Yong, and Zi Yang Chuan, purchased more than ten acres of land in Waimushan as temple property, constructing the temple with timber. Later, the Lin family from Banqiao, a prominent local family, donated land in the current Ren’ai District, Wang Tianli, which was further supported by local gentry like Zhang Jinfa and Lai Wu, garnering enthusiastic local support. Upon entering the temple, one can see neatly arranged red stone pillars engraved with respectful couplets, with floral and bird stone pillars in front of the main deity in the main hall. The temple is open year-round from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
