The Changhua Confucius Temple was established by Zhang Gao, the county magistrate, in the 4th year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty. It is the Confucian school established after Changhua was established as a county. When Zhang Shizhen, the county magistrate, renovated it in the 24th year of Qianlong, bricks were laid on the corridor, the Ritual Gate and the Righteous Path were moved outside the Lingxing Gate. A泮 pool was dug. Outside the pool, there is a palace wall tens of thousands of feet high. The Minglun Hall was raised by more than 2 feet. After renovations in the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, in addition to raising the foundation of the temple, a pair of stone-carved coiled dragon eaves columns were replaced in front of the Dacheng Hall, and stone pillars were added to the surrounding eaves corridors, establishing the scale and layout of today’s Confucius Temple.
