Huoyanshan is located at the junction of Sanyi Township and Yuanli Town. It is the highest point of the hills in Miaoli area. As Huoyanshan belongs to the gravel geology with loose soil and is mostly red, orange and brown. From a distance, it looks like a burning flame, so it has the beautiful name of Huoyanshan. The geological conditions are not suitable for agricultural cultivation, which also allows Huoyanshan to preserve many native Masson pine forests and Rhododendron oldhamii. During the rhododendron flowering season every year, thousands of bright flowers dot the entire mountain, which is extremely beautiful. Although Huoyanshan is only 600 meters above sea level, climbing to the top of the mountain allows you to overlook the Taiwan Strait and pastoral scenery. It is extremely beautiful!
