The China Go Museum is located in ‘Tianyuan Building’, the building of Hangzhou Chess Academy in Qianjiang New City, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It opened on October 1, 2010. Go is a splendid traditional cultural treasure of the Chinese nation and a unique creation of Chinese wisdom. It perfectly combines science, art and competition. It has remained prosperous for thousands of years and has now developed into a popular puzzle sport worldwide. The lobby on the first floor of the museum will be decorated in the shape of ’round sky and square earth’, symbolizing the chessboard and pieces. The exhibition content shows the thousand-year chess vein from the origin of Go, the turmoil in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the elegance of the Tang and Song Dynasties, the prosperous times of the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the modern transformation. The second floor and the 34th floor are restaurants. They will be decorated with Go paintings. The tableware is also round and smooth, similar to the shape of chess pieces. The third floor is a teaching and training area. In the corridor, calligraphy works of poems about Go by famous people of all ages form a long corridor of chess culture poems. The fourth floor is an office and training area. Here, you can explore the connection between Go and the world. The fifth floor is a conference hall. The names of each hall are related to chess, such as Yizheng and Yile, which are very artistic. The specific business hours and operating status are subject to the opening situation on the day.
