The Three Caves of Mist and Rosy Clouds, namely the Stone House Cave, Shuile Cave and Mist and Rosy Clouds Cave, are located on the Mist and Rosy Clouds Ridge under the South Peak. Originally, there was a well on the roadside near Hupao Spring. The well has four openings and is called Four-Eyed Well. Opposite there is a path. On both sides are osmanthus trees forming a forest. Walking about 500 meters is the Stone House Cave.

The cave is high and spacious. The top of the cave is like a house, hence the name. There were originally 500 stone carvings of arhats on the cave wall, but they have been destroyed. Beside the main cave, there is another cave called ‘Bieshi Courtyard’. The back of the cave is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, shaped like a floating snail, and is named ‘Floating Snail in the Sea’. After several renovations, the Stone House Cave is planted with various flowers and trees and is a good place for sightseeing and rest.

About 500 meters in front of the Stone House Cave is the Shuile Cave. On the roadside outside the cave, osmanthus trees stand in rows. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the fragrance of golden osmanthus fills the air. Tourists can sit and taste tea beside the osmanthus trees, which is very interesting. The Shuile Cave is more than 60 meters deep. There is a clear spring flowing out of the cave entrance.

The sound is like metal and stone, which is very pleasant. On the stone walls on both sides are stone carvings such as ‘Natural Sound of the Qin’ and ‘Listening to the Qin without Strings’. In the cave, the sound of water can be heard everywhere, but no water can be seen. Only when reaching the cave entrance can one see the clear spring gushing like a fountain. At the bottom of the cave, there were originally two stone statues of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai.

There is another stone. When struck with a stick, it sounds like an ancient qin, which is very wonderful.

About 500 meters outside the Shuile Cave is the Mist and Rosy Clouds Cave. The grotto sculptures on the inner wall of the Mist and Rosy Clouds Cave are works from the Five Dynasties. The shapes are vivid and natural and smooth. Especially the Guanyin and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattvas at the cave entrance are very exquisite and give a feeling of being about to come out. On the left side of the cave, there is a stone shaped like an elephant.

Under the belly of the stone elephant, there is another stone like a small elephant, which is very interesting. Nearby there is also the scenic spot of Bergamot Rock. Bergamot Rock is in the huge rock cave of ‘Lianfeng’. Inside the cave, there is a stone pillar shaped like a hand hanging down, which is extremely lifelike and is therefore called ‘Bergamot’.
