Qiaoxi Historical District, named for its location on the west bank of the Gongchen Bridge, was a bustling water and land transportation hub in the Gongchen Bridge area during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty.
The district still preserves a relatively complete set of riverside residential buildings from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, as well as a large number of modern industrial heritages.

Among the important preserved structures are historical and residential buildings, including the ‘tube buildings,’ with Jing Sheng Li and Qiao Long Street being particularly representative.

As you stroll along, you will find shops and restaurants lining both sides of the street. You can sit in a street-side café, observing the bustling crowd, or visit interesting handicraft workshops where the clay figurines of old times serve as excellent materials for reminiscence.

The old street’s new look will surely captivate you and make you linger. The district is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
