Li’an Temple is located beside the ancient path in Yangmeiling Village, Jiuxi Scenic Area, Hangzhou. It was historically known as ‘Yongquan Zen Temple’ and is famous for its celebrated spring, Fayu Spring, which rivals the renowned Tiger Run Spring. During the Ming Dynasty, the eminent monk Fohuo Zhifeng once resided here, and the King of Wuyue built the temple for him. The temple is grand in scale and adorned with exquisite decorations, featuring structures such as the mountain gate, imperial stele pavilion, Maitreya Hall, Mahavira Hall, meditation hall, Dharma hall, scripture repository, abbot’s quarters, and Songwei Pavilion. The unique architectural style, combined with the elegant surrounding landscape, has inspired countless literati and poets, leaving behind numerous inscriptions and verses. The opening hours are subject to the temple’s daily operations.
