The former site of Zhang Xiaoquan’s Scissors Brand is located in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou City. It features a two-story wooden structure and is believed to have been built around 1921.
During the early Qing Dynasty, after the emergence of ‘Zhang Xiaoquan’, Hangzhou scissors began to gain fame across the Yangtze River basin and beyond, becoming one of the renowned ‘Five Hangzhou Products’. In 1890 (the 16th year of the Guangxu era), the brand was officially approved by the government to add the characters ‘Quan Jin’ to its sign. The county magistrate of Qiantang even issued a proclamation ‘Forever Banning the Misuse’ and engraved a stone tablet at the entrance of the store.
The site is open all year round. The exterior of the building is accessible at all times. The specific business hours are subject to the day’s opening conditions.
