Xiaoputuo Buddhist Temple, situated at the eastern end of Guanchao Resort Park, was originally known as Wendao Nunnery. It was reconstructed in 1992 beside the Tianfeng Haitao Pavilion, along the seashore, and spans an area of 4,200 square meters. This temple is among the five major Buddhist temples in Yanguan and was formerly a nunnery.
During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed ‘Xiaoputuo’. In its heyday, the temple attracted thousands of visitors who came to burn incense and pay homage. A significant annual event is the ‘Meeting of Staying on the Mountain’, which takes place on the 17th day of the eighth lunar month.
Please note that the temple’s business hours and opening status are subject to change depending on the day’s circumstances.
