The Vairocana Temple in Nanjing was built from 1522 to 1566. As the Vairocana Buddha is enshrined in the temple, it was initially named Vairocana Nunnery and is one of the famous temples in Jinling. The Chinese Buddhist Association, the Chinese Buddhist Research Association, the Chinese Religious Fellowship, and the Capital Hospital are all located here. The Vairocana Temple is a ‘Golden Light Dharma Realm’. Adhering to the spirit of Golden Light, it solemnizes the country and widely promotes the sacred teachings, and has unique characteristics in the Buddhist capital of Jinling. Opening hours: Open all year round from 09:00 to 16:30.
