Liyang Museum, the city’s first comprehensive urban museum, is a cultural gem situated by the picturesque Yanhu Park Lake. Inspired by the Jiaowei Qin, an instrument crafted by Cai Yong during the Eastern Han Dynasty, the museum boasts a total construction area of approximately 18,319 square meters, with an exhibition space spanning around 11,000 square meters.
The museum’s exhibition hall is spread across three floors. The first and second floors house the museum’s main attractions, which are organized into three distinct themed areas. The first theme revolves around Eosimias sinensis, a fascinating species from the Middle Eocene period, dating back 45 million years. The second theme, “Liyang through the ages – Jinlai River,” offers a historical journey through the city’s rich past. The third theme delves into Lishui customs and the period of founding the nation.
The third floor is dedicated to the planning exhibition hall, which presents detailed insights into the city’s urban planning and development.
Visitors are welcome to explore the museum from Tuesday to Sunday, with opening hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year. Please note that the specific business status may vary depending on the day’s operational conditions.
