The Baicao Garden is a vegetable garden of the Zhou family, located behind Lu Xun’s former residence. This is the place where Lu Xun played when he was a child. Due to the interesting descriptions in ‘From Baicao Garden to Sanwei Study’, it has become the common childhood memory of most tourists. Today, the Baicao Garden is still roughly the same as it was in the past. Some vegetables are planted inside. The tall Chinese honey locust tree is luxuriant, making people faintly feel the shadow of the old days. There is a mud wall about one meter high on the west side of the large garden, serving as the boundary with the back garden of the Liang family next door. At the southern end of the mud wall, where it borders the corner of Lu Xun’s back door, there is a boundary stone engraved with the two characters ‘Liang Jie’. This boundary stone and the’short mud wall’ that Lu Xun called ‘having infinite interest’ still remain as they were.
