Tianzi Palace is located at the top of Mingshan Mountain in Fengdu County, Chongqing. It faces east from the west. Tianzi Palace has a magnificent structure and fine craftsmanship. It adopts traditional cornices and brackets, hollow carvings, and round logs for load-bearing. It is composed of two large rafters and ridge joints. The roof has four inclined surfaces and is shaped like a wide umbrella. Covering an area of 2569 square meters and with a construction area of 2400 square meters, it is composed of four parts: archway, mountain gate, palace hall, and Erxian Tower. Tianzi Palace on Mingshan Mountain in Fengdu, Chongqing was originally built in the Western Jin Dynasty. Its original name was Qianzhu Palace and it has a history of more than 1,600 years. In the Tang Dynasty, Xiandu Temple was added. In the Song Dynasty, it was renamed Jingde Temple, also known as Baihe Temple. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Yama Palace and later was destroyed by fire. The current Tianzi Palace was rebuilt in 1664 AD (the third year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty). Its original name was Yanjun Palace. Commonly known as Tianzi Palace, it is the largest existing ancient building complex in Mingshan Mountain. It is open all year round from 08:00 to 16:00.
