The Tongxi Scenic Area is located within the jurisdiction of Tongpu Township and is named after the ancient practice of planting parasol trees along the creekside. The scenic area is primarily composed of three parts: the Lake Island, Longtan, and Yan’an. Visitors must enter the reservoir by boat to visit the three attractions in sequence, which is why some refer to it as a ‘condensed version of Thousand Islands Lake’.
There are no particularly abundant entertainment options here, but visitors can enjoy the natural scenery and the bright afternoon sunshine. Some nearby tourists come here for vacations with their families during leisure time. The boat ticket is included in the scenic area ticket, and one can start at the Lake Island pier. This is a small island in the lake, not particularly high, and the mountain itself is not extraordinary. However, there is a lush path along the lake, and it is very pleasant to walk along it under the shade of the trees, enjoying the lake and mountain views.
The pier is also the Longtan Scenic Area, where there is a restaurant by the pier. Visitors can order local specialties such as local chicken and dried tofu, and dine at stone tables. The Longtan Scenic Area features valleys and streams. In addition to walking along the trails in the valley, in summer, one can also take off their shoes and splash in the shallow waters by the stream, which is a cool and interesting experience.
