Dongshan Scenic Area is located on the east bank of the middle reaches of the Cao’e River. It was the seclusion place of Xie An, a politician from the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and the location of the famous temple, Guoqing Temple, from which the idiom ‘Rise to Power Again’ originates. Within the scenic area, there are still the tomb of Xie An, his tombstone, and other relics such as the Washing Sand Pond and the Rose Cave. On the riverbank of Dongshan, there is a huge rock shaped like a finger that juts out towards the west, known as ‘Dongshan Finger Stone’, a famous scenic spot of Dongshan. Under the stone, there is the fishing stone where Xie An used to fish and the Finger Stone Pond. The opening hours are subject to the actual daily opening status.
