The name of Da Hong Pao Scenic Area originates from the mother tree of Da Hong Pao in the scenic area. Da Hong Pao is the top product among Wuyi Rock Tea. It grows in Jiulongke in the north of Wuyi Mountain. At present, there are only a few mother trees of Da Hong Pao left, which are extremely precious. The main scenic spots in the area are: Niulankeng, Yongle Chan Temple, Da Hong Pao, Sanhua Peak, Leishi Rock, Matou Rock, Wuyuan Cave, and Duxia Rock.

The main attractions are Tianxin Yongle Chan Temple in Wuyi Mountain and the legendary divine tea Da Hong Pao. To see the mother tree of Da Hong Pao, one needs to walk for a while. Walking in, there are cliffs on the left and tea gardens on the right. There are rows upon rows of tea gardens with various varieties, but all are rock tea, and Da Hong Pao is one of them. There are also tea eggs claimed to be boiled with Da Hong Pao tea. In addition to the mother tree of Da Hong Pao, another point worth seeing in the scenic area is Yongle Chan Temple.

The architecture of Yongle Chan Temple in the temple is very magnificent. Along the central axis, there are buildings such as Maitreya Hall, Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Dharma Hall, storehouse, dining hall, meditation hall, guest hall, and pilgrim building. The pavilions are lofty and, under the cover of trees, appear deep and elegant. You can stroll around at will.
