Houhaitang, a masterpiece of wisdom crafted by ancient working people, is situated in the northern part of Zhenhai District in Ningbo. This historic structure extends from Zhaobaoshan in the east to Jiaxieting in Yufan Town in the west, spanning a total length of 4.8 kilometers. Characterized by its winding and stretching pond body, Houhaitang was initially constructed as a windproof and water-blocking barrier to protect the city.
Dating back to its first construction in 897 AD, Houhaitang has stood the test of time for over 1,090 years, serving as a testament to the ingenuity of its builders.
