Growing up in the 80s and early 90s, the lively Smurfs were a cherished part of our childhoods. The familiar tune, “Beyond the mountains, beyond the seas, there is a group of Smurfs. They are lively and clever, they are naughty and sensitive,” still resonates with us. Now, the Smurfs-themed Shanghai Shimao Fantasy City Theme Park – Smurfs Park, has officially opened in Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort. As a Smurfs fan, I couldn’t wait to visit after seeing the news online.

Located next to the Smurfs Park is the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland – Shanghai Sheshan Shimao洲际酒店, an ideal choice for a short-distance tour in Shanghai. With my childhood memories and anticipation, I arrived early at the park, just in time for the grand opening. The cute Smurfs puppets performing on stage brought a wave of nostalgia.

Shanghai Shimao Fantasy City Theme Park is divided into Deep Pit Secret Realm Park and Smurfs Park. My focus was on Smurfs Park, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. Inside, there are several areas including a forest, a village, and Gargamel’s house, with the Smurfs as the main attraction throughout the journey. There’s also a challenge with 17 check-in points; a park map can be collected at the entrance, and completing all 17 stamps earns a small gift.

Upon entering the Smurfs area, I encountered the float parade featuring Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and Gargamel, who interacted warmly with the tourists. The performers were enthusiastic, and children were given interactive balloons, making it a true paradise for kids.

**Must-Play Projects:**

1. **Forest Area:**
– **Forest Maze:** A recreation of the forest from the Smurfs animation, perfect for children’s hide and seek games.
– **Berry Swing:** A 360-degree ‘small pendulum’ ride suitable for children without height restrictions.
– **Magic Mirror Transformation:** A photo booth where your portrait is placed on a Smurf’s body, creating a funny souvenir that can be saved on your phone.

2. **Village Area:**
– **Berry Roller Coaster:** A mild yet characteristic roller coaster that rotates, offering a unique experience.
– **Baking Jam Cup:** A ride in jam cup-shaped seats that move in a dizzying, fairy tale-like manner.

3. **Painting Magic Brush:** This activity ignites artistic inspiration in children and parents, turning them into little painters. Seeing your colored Smurf come to life on the screen is a thrilling achievement.

4. **Smurfette Garden:** With flower-shaped ride seats that gently move, it’s an ideal spot for little girls.

5. **Gargamel’s Area:**
– **Dark Laboratory:** A ‘scary’ haunted house with occasional spider and cricket props for a thrilling experience.
– **Marsh Adventure:** A 3D screen game where you fire simulated berry bullets at Gargamel and Azrael to earn points.
– **Azrael’s Jump Tower:** A small drop tower suitable for young children, with a gentle movement for safety.

This trip to Smurfs Park was a delightful blend of nostalgia and new adventures, making it a perfect weekend getaway for friends and family. After participating in a variety of challenges, help the Smurfs rescue Smurfette who was captured by Gargamel. The amusement projects here are also very thrilling! In the Smurf Village, there are many rich and colorful play projects. You can feel as if immersed in a sea of flowers and leaves or have an intimate contact with the Smurfs in the Smurf theater. When you come to the world of the Smurfs, don’t forget to bring back some souvenirs. The elf gift shop in the park sells a variety of cute Smurf-related products. If you are tired or hungry in the park, there is also a restaurant, the Smurf Restaurant, with various Smurf IP-themed meals to choose from.

The Smurf Village is full of fairy tale atmosphere. The colorful designs are full of fairy tale aesthetic. There are many flower and grass decorations in the park, making it seem like the place where the Smurfs live. As a national treasure of Belgium, these blue Smurfs with white hats have been popular around the world for many years. The entire park’s play route tells the story of the Smurfs and the evil wizard Gargamel who tries to capture them.

Finally, you arrive at the Grand茂 area. There are 8 educational and entertaining play projects, allowing children to balance play and growth. The most recommended is the Wonderland Soaring, a 180-degree spherical screen combined with sound, light, and electricity, offering an extraordinary shocking blockbuster experience. The Adventure King 6D cinema is also full of technology. It immerses you into the animated world on the screen through multi-sensory experiences such as vision, touch, and smell, following the protagonist on an adventure. These two projects are only open at specific times, so those who want to go need to plan their time well. There is also Journey to the Center of the Earth, an indoor landscape roller coaster. Children can experience a combination of virtual and real, true and illusory, and interactive experiences. The video contains a lot of geographical knowledge about the Earth’s core and interior, combined with lighting, sound effects, and even fog.

At the other end of the Smurfs Park is the Deep Pit Secret Land Park, which has various imaginative amusement facilities, such as the elf tree house, flying over the deep pit, and the glass plank road with the best angle to view the world’s architectural wonders. If you are interested in these projects, don’t miss them.

As you walk out of the park, you will see a blue and white miniature train. It is extremely dreamy. This miniature train connects the Smurfs Park and the Deep Pit Secret Land Park. If you feel tired and unable to walk, you can take a ride and experience the treatment of a little princess. If you want to stay near the Smurfs Park, there is a popular online hotel here. The InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, Sheshan, is the most popular deep pit hotel in Shanghai in recent years. Once launched, it has an online celebrity temperament. Recently, a 6-meter-tall Smurfs inflatable model has also secretly gone there to check in. The deep pit + Smurfs inflatable model is really great for taking pictures. The deep pit hotel can be said to have a very unique design among all hotels in Shanghai. It reverses the traditional architectural concept of developing towards the sky, explores the building space 88 meters below the surface, and is built along the cliff of the deep pit. It is hailed as one of the top ten architectural wonders in the world by National Geographic. At the bottom of the deep pit of the hotel, you can see the Smurfs inflatable model at a glance, sitting leisurely by the swimming pool. Seeing such a cute Smurf sitting there, of course, you need to take a few misaligned photos.

Way to arrive: Get off at Dongjing Station on Metro Line 9 and transfer to Bus No. 96 and get off at the exit of Shimao Nano Magic City.
