The Ancient Buddha Cave is located on the north side of Fei Sha Ao. Inside the cave, there is a full-body sarira of Master Ren Guang, which is the only flesh body in Mount Putuo, known as the ‘Ancient Buddha’. Ren Guang achieved nirvana in the 33rd year of the Guangxu period, and his body remains intact. His disciples painted and gilded his flesh body, which is enshrined in the cave. Next to the cave lies the Ancient Buddha Temple. Although the scenery here is beautiful, it is rarely visited by tourists, making it an ideal place for those who seek seclusion and exploration. The cave is open all year round, 24/7.
