The Ancient Buddha Guanyin Nunnery was originally located on the west side outside Quyang Gate in Haizhou. The nunnery door faces east and backs against the city walls. In the early 1990s, this Guanyin Nunnery incorporated the Ancient Buddha Nunnery that was demolished on North Street. New buildings such as a five-bay main hall, mountain gate, chanting hall, ancient Buddha hall, and dining hall were constructed. It is one of the remaining nine nunneries and eighteen temples.
