Ancient Town of Yixian

The Ancient Town of Yixian, also known as the current Yixian County, is situated in Biyang Town. It is backed by the Dongyue Mountain, bordered by the Zhang River, and surrounded by mountains with clear streams meandering through, presenting a picturesque landscape. The town, formerly known as ‘County Street,’ is renowned for its ancient architecture. Huangshan Mountain, previously named Yishan, lends its name to the county. In 221 BC, Emperor Qin Shi Huang unified the land, abolished the feudal system, and established Yixian (Yi) County. The town is open all year round, accessible day and night.
