Embarking on a journey to the Lehuo Campsite (Suburban Park Branch) on August 23, 2024, at 11:24 AM, I was filled with anticipation for the upcoming autumn barbecue team building event in Shanghai. As the autumn breeze brought refreshing coolness and golden leaves filled the park, I left behind the city’s hustle and bustle, stepping into a captivating autumn landscape.

Upon entering the campsite, the first thing that caught my eye was the countryside painted with vibrant autumn colors. Sunlight filtered through sparse clouds, casting a warm golden veil over the grassland. The air was filled with a faint scent of vegetation, invigorating and refreshing.

Our team building activities began with an outdoor barbecue. Everyone cooperated, with some starting the fire, others threading meat, and some preparing seasonings. The charcoal fire gradually grew stronger, and the food on the grill started to emit an enticing aroma. We sat around the barbecue, grilling and eating, chatting and laughing, enjoying this rare moment of leisure and freedom. The autumn wind gently blew away the greasiness of the food, leaving only a mouthful of freshness and warmth in our hearts.

After the meal, we moved to the frisbee field. Under the blue sky and white clouds, we divided into several teams and engaged in an intense frisbee relay race. Running, jumping, and cheering, we seemed to return to our carefree childhood. The frisbees traced beautiful arcs in the air, drawing out the tacit understanding and friendship among our team.Next, we arrived at the archery range. It was my first time trying archery, and I was both excited and nervous. Under the guidance of the coach, I gradually learned how to hold the bow, aim, and release the arrow. When the arrow firmly hit the target center, I felt an unprecedented sense of achievement and joy. Archery not only trained my patience and focus but also allowed me to experience the pleasure of challenging myself.

In the evening, a bonfire for roasting a whole lamb was set up in the center of the campsite. The entire lamb slowly turned golden and crispy over the charcoal fire, with a rich aroma wafting through the air. We sat around the bonfire, savoring this hearty autumn dish. The delicacy of the lamb and the aroma of the charcoal intertwined, leaving a lasting impression. Everyone raised their glasses to share stories and feelings, enjoying this rare moment of togetherness.

As night fell, we gathered around the stove to make tea. By the warm stove, we brewed a pot of good tea and savored it slowly. The fragrance of the tea rose, contrasting sharply with the coolness of the autumn night. We either whispered to each other or contemplated quietly, enjoying this rare moment of tranquility and comfort. The firelight shone on our faces, reflecting the warmth and satisfaction in our hearts.

Finally, we ended this team building event with a joyful caterpillar race. United in effort, we propelled the colorful ‘caterpillars’ across the grass with vigor. Laughter and cheers intertwined, filling the entire camp with vitality and energy.This race tested our speed and strength and also allowed us to deeply appreciate the importance of teamwork. Reflecting on this autumn team-building trip at Happy Camp, I feel a sense of fulfillment. I enjoyed the pleasures of food and games and also gained friendship and trust within the team. This barbecue team-building feast will become a bright landscape in my memory and be forever etched in my heart.
