Also known as the Tang Shaofu Bai Gong Temple, it is located within an ancient-style courtyard at the entrance of Shantang Street. A stone statue of Bai Juyi stands tall in the center of the hall, with the Shantang Qingfeng Corridor on one side, where sixteen stone inscriptions depict the forebears related to Suzhou, Changmen, and Shantang. The black and white stone carvings are vividly lifelike. Inside the temple, there are displays of pictures documenting Bai Juyi’s footprints in Suzhou and his contributions to the people of Suzhou. Behind the half-statue of Bai Juyi standing in the middle of the marble platform, a large-scale artwork named ‘Bai Juyi Repairing Shantang for the People’ has attracted many tourists to stop and admire. The opening hours and business status are subject to the day’s opening conditions.
