Upon arriving at the Bailian Pagoda Temple, you are essentially at the end of the Xizha Scenic Area. The Bailian Pagoda within the temple stands by the ancient canal. It is the tallest ancient building in Wuzhen and is quite eye-catching.
Most visitors come here to climb the tower and enjoy the view. They can gaze at the scenery of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal from a high vantage point, which is truly breathtaking.
If you wish to climb the tower for sightseeing, you can only ascend to the third floor. Although you cannot reach the top of the tower, it is still an excellent viewing platform. As you ascend the wooden stairs, the space becomes narrower the higher you go. In some places where you might hit your head, the corners are wrapped with blue printed cloth.
The number of people allowed to climb the tower is also limited. There is a batch every 15 minutes and 15 people per batch. If there are too many people, you may need to wait in line.
The night view here is also very beautiful. After dark, the tall tower of the ancient pagoda is particularly charming under the illumination of lights. It is a good choice to come and photograph the night view in the evening. You can also visit the nearby bar street.
The opening hours are from May 1st to September 30th, 08:30 – 17:30; and from October 1st to April 30th, 08:00 – 17:00.
