The botanical garden is located in the north of the middle section of Modern Avenue in the park. It forms a triangle with Jinji Lake and Shahu Lake. It covers a total area of about 60.5 hectares, of which the water surface area is about 12 hectares. The design scheme of this park is from the well-known Dutch landscape design company NITA Landscape Design Institute. The plant collocation and plant landscaping in Baitang Botanical Garden will highlight the ecological landscape. Plant design, landform shaping, and water body design are all based on the principle of simulating the ecology of nature. A certain scale of natural landscape forest will be arranged, and some wild animals, birds, insects, etc. will be introduced to gradually make the forest form an ecological cycle on its own. In order to make up for the lack of natural mountains in the park, terrain transformation will also be carried out in the botanical garden. Through artificial earth piling to create mountains, a landscape with undulating mountains will be created. The water of Baitang Lake will also be presented as much as possible in its original ecological form. On the one hand, the water level can be effectively controlled and circulated with the external river water. On the other hand, diverse ecological communities will be naturally displayed through the winding lake shoreline, river network, hillside wetlands, etc. The botanical garden can be roughly divided into three major areas: west, middle, and east, and the terrain gradually increases from west to east. Western District: The terrain is relatively flat and is equipped with ‘the west main entrance of the park, comprehensive service building 1 (music fog square), comprehensive service building 3, boat rental management office’ and the starting (ending) point of the sightseeing tour bus. These are all gathering places where park tourists are relatively concentrated. Central District: The terrain is higher and undulating than that of the ‘Western District’. One is to properly block the sight of tourists entering the park, and at the same time, it is built according to the seasons of ‘spring, summer, autumn and winter’ and the characteristics suitable for plant growth. Among them, the ‘boat and vehicle repair place’ is arranged on ‘Spring Island’, and the ‘VIP reception room’ is arranged on ‘Autumn Island’. Eastern District: The terrain is relatively high. An artificial mountain with a main peak height of 14.8 meters and a secondary peak height of 11 meters is mechanically piled up. Among them, ‘comprehensive service building 2, comprehensive service building 4’ and ‘mountain top tea room’ are arranged. In order to reflect the original wilderness interest of the mountains and forests in the suburbs, two ‘artificial streams’ are constructed on the mountain, one is a ‘water stream’ and the other is a ‘dry stream’. At the same time, at appropriate positions on the mountain, three ‘children’s playgrounds’ of different sizes are also arranged. Opening hours: 9:00 – 17:00; details are subject to the publicity of the scenic spot.
