The Baiyun Ancient Temple on Tianping Mountain was built in the Tang Dynasty and is also known as Baiyun Temple. In the fourth year of Qingli in the Song Dynasty (1044 AD), Fan Zhongyan remembered that his ancestral tomb was here and requested it to be a ‘temple for merit and incense offerings’. Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty bestowed the mountain upon him and conferred a temple plaque. Thus, it became the ancestral temple of the Fan family. After generations of repairs, for more than a thousand years, the Baiyun Ancient Temple has witnessed the evolution and development of Tianping Mountain and is one of the important carriers for preserving the historical features of Tianping Mountain. Opening hours: Open from 8:00 to 17:00 all year round.
