The architectural style of Baofa Buddhist Temple is unique and relatively rare among ordinary temples. The architectural layout of the whole temple is in the shape of an ‘elephant’. The two sides of the elephant trunk bay are like elephant ears. In the middle of the elephant trunk bay is the Mahavira Hall. While maintaining its original style, the hall has absorbed the architectural style of Suzhou gardens. The eastern side hall enshrines a reclining Buddha statue and the Western Trinity Statues. Among them, the Western Trinity Statues are carved from ancient sandalwood and are dazzlingly glorious. The western side hall enshrines the Thousand-Handed Avalokitesvara made of Burmese white jade and Wenchang. Each one has a solemn and wonderful appearance. There is also a Guanyin island in front of the side hall. Every summer, when the lotus blooms in the pond, Guanyin stands in the middle of the lotus cluster, presenting a very spectacular scene.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 8:00 to 18:00.
