Plot Summary:
Heaven, or perhaps hell. Three souls gather here today. They discuss the war of 1941, the rainy night in Copenhagen in September, the ski competition in Norway, Nazi Germany’s nuclear reactor, and the atomic bomb being developed by the Allies. They talk about quantum mechanics, particles, uranium fission, and the uncertainty principle, as well as Beethoven’s and Bach’s piano compositions. They discuss the rights of individuals during the war to do their utmost for their country, the twisted bodies in the city after the bombs were dropped. They talk about this and that, but what they really want to clarify is the mysterious meeting between two Nobel Prize winners who influenced the course of world physics, Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr, in Copenhagen in 1941. They continually narrate the ‘truth’ of the meeting, yet the outcome remains uncertain.
