Biyun Flower Sea – Shili Water Town Scenic Area

Biyun Flower Sea is a national azalea production and exhibition base, a leading agricultural enterprise in Zhejiang Province, an ecological civilization education base in Zhejiang Province, a national agricultural tourism demonstration site, a national leisure agriculture and rural tourism enterprise, and a demonstration base for the industrialization of Chinese azalea bonsai. It officially started operations in 2001 and was jointly established as a national 4A scenic area with Shili Water Town in 2011.

By creating distinctive themed gardens such as Yunxiang Garden, Tropical Botanical Garden, Vegetable Garden, Fengshu Garden, Oil Fragrance Garden, Rose Manor, Flower World, Azalea Square, Azalea Garden, and Osmanthus Garden, it showcases the beauty of flowers and natural pastoral scenery. It has held the Azalea Culture Festival for 14 consecutive years, forming various tourism models including agricultural sightseeing tours, self-driving picking tours, and wedding photography.

Shili Water Town, about 3 kilometers long, was originally named Shili Rongxi and later renamed due to its typical representation of the unique Jiangnan water town scenery. The banks of the river have retained the original natural ecological features, rich in rural charm, and gather many scenic spots such as Rongxi Arch Green, Autumn Reeds Flying Snow, Peach Source Hidden Fisherman, Fengqian Ancient Rhythm, and Lotus Pond Moonlight.

Boating on Rongxi, with green trees on both banks, reeds and shrubs growing, egrets playing, ancient trees with gnarled roots and branches leaning over the river surface, graceful like natural bonsai, everything you see is picturesque, it can be said that ‘green belts provide shade and bird songs, clear waves are full of boat emotions, breeze brushes willows for fishing, and every step by the river is a scene’.
