Biyun Pavilion is located on the top of Tiger Mountain and is also known as ‘Wangjiang Pavilion’. This flat-topped ridge that resembles a peninsula extends northward. It is surrounded by cliffs on three sides and is only connected to the mountain path by a single stone, forming a unique scenic spot that prevails by its perilousness.
On its east side, there are deep valleys and steep cliffs with exposed rocks, extremely precipitous. On the west side, undulating ridges covered by the sea of pine waves lie at one’s feet. From time to time, the roaring sound of the forest like a battle cry in autumn can be heard with the wind. Looking north, the great river comes into full view. The surging waves pass under one’s feet. On both banks, there are thousands of miles of fertile fields, boundlessly vast.

Although it is not as famous as Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, its beautiful scenery is no less magnificent than that of Yellow Crane Tower. There is a couplet inscribed by Zhang Zhidong for Yellow Crane Tower that goes well here: ‘A refreshing breeze comes from the west, sweeping away the clouds and fog to dispel the hatred between heaven and earth. The great river flows eastward, washing away the sorrows of ancient and modern times.’ Open all year round and all day long.
