The Bright Summit is a relatively high peak of Mount Huangshan. With an altitude of 1860 meters, it is named for its high and open terrain and long duration of sunlight exposure. The view from the Bright Summit is extremely wonderful. It is not only one of the good places to overlook the magnificent surrounding peaks but also a great place to watch the sunrise, sunset, and sea of clouds. From the Bright Summit, one can see the wonders of the East Sea and the peaks of the West Sea. Peaks such as Tiandu, Lianhua, Yuping, and Aoyu are all in full view. Among the thirty-six peaks of Mount Huangshan, the Bright Summit is not included because the ancients regarded the Bright Summit as the crown of all peaks and therefore ranked it above the names of the thirty-six peaks. In the Ming Dynasty, Monk Pumen once established the Dabei Temple on the top. Now on its ruins stands the meteorological station with a relatively high altitude in East China – Mount Huangshan Meteorological Station.
Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. Must-see tips: 1. If you want to watch the sunrise at the Bright Summit, it is recommended to stay at the Bright Summit Villa or Baiyun Hotel. Check the sunrise time for the next day in advance and book a wake-up call service at the hotel. 2.
