Cai Shen Bay is located near the Dongzha Visitor Center, historically known as ‘Turn Boat Bay’. The area features an expansive water surface, serving as a place for boats to turn around, drop anchor, and dock. Besides admiring the quaint corridor pavilions on both banks from the Fengyuan Double Bridge, the unique high-pole boat performances here are also worth pausing to watch from the shore.
Due to the unique ‘cross’ shaped water system in Wuzhen, the waterways become narrower towards the zha head, making it difficult for boats to turn around. Consequently, locals dug a pond and created a river here to facilitate boat turning. To distinguish it from other turn boat bays, the name ‘Cai Shen Bay’ was adopted, borrowing from the nearby Cai Shen Hall.

Additionally, there is a saying about the Fengyuan Double Bridge to the east of Cai Shen Bay: ‘Walk on the left for promotion, walk on the right for wealth’. Many visitors come here for this auspicious meaning. The bay is open all year round, accessible 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily opening conditions.

A must-see tip: The high-pole boat performances at Cai Shen Bay occur twice daily, from 10:30 to 10:40 AM and from 2:30 to 2:40 PM, each lasting approximately 10 minutes. Performances are suspended in adverse weather conditions.
