Changchun Bridge in Wuxi, constructed in 1936, is located in the midst of a pool of water between Hanwanxuan and Jiangxuexuan. The bridge is arch-shaped, reminiscent of the Jade Belt Bridge in the Summer Palace, with its reflection in the water forming a perfect circle under the sunlight.
On the lake embankment, Japanese cherry blossoms have been planted for over 60 years. Every April, the blossoms bloom like clouds, with a delicate interplay of light red and pink hues, against the backdrop of green mountains and clear waters, creating a scene known as the ‘Changchun Cherry Blossoms’. Beyond Changchun Bridge lies an ancient architectural structure partially submerged in the water, inscribed with the title ‘Jiangxuexuan’, facing Hanwanxuan. Adjacent to Jiangxuexuan is the Yun Dou Building, erected by the garden owner in memory of his ancestor Yang Du Wang, with an inscription by Cai Yuanpei. Ascending the slope, one finds the Flower God Temple, built in 1931, housing a statue of ‘Flower God Nu Yi’, adorned with a high bun and elegant attire, exuding a dignified posture. The site is open all year round, accessible 24/7.Must Read
