The Changchun Bridge in Wuxi was built in 1936. It is located in a pool between Hanwan Pavilion and Jiangxue Pavilion. Lake embankments are built before and after the bridge to separate it from the water of Taihu Lake. The bridge is arched, like the Jade Belt Bridge in the Summer Palace. The bridge opening reflects the sun and forms a perfect circle. Japanese cherry blossoms were introduced on the lake embankment more than 60 years ago. Every April, the blossoms are like clouds, with light red and pink-white colors alternating. Against the backdrop of green mountains and clear waters, it is extraordinarily enchanting and is called ‘Changchun Cherry Blossoms’. Forward from Changchun Bridge, there is an ancient building half exposed on the water surface, with the inscription ‘Jiangxue Pavilion’, which forms a pair of views with Hanwan Pavilion. Next to Jiangxue Pavilion is Yundou Tower. It was built by the garden owner to commemorate his ancestor Yang Duwang. There is an inscription by Cai Yuanpei on it. Going up the slope, there is a Flower God Temple. Built in 1931, it enshrines the statue of the ‘Flower Goddess Yi’. She has high buns and cloud-like clothes, with an elegant posture.
