Changshu Museum is a historical art museum that integrates collection, research, exhibition, and education. It houses over 11,000 artifacts ranging from the Songze and Liangzhu cultures more than 5,000 years ago to the period of the New Democratic Revolution, primarily focusing on calligraphy, ceramics, and jade. In recent years, the museum’s collections have been featured in various publications such as the ‘Complete Collection of Fine Arts,’ ‘Liangzhu Jade,’ ‘Four Kings’ Paintings,’ ‘Wu Changshuo’s Calligraphy and Painting Collection,’ ‘Chinese Astronomical Artifacts Catalogue,’ ‘The Path of Buddhism’s Early Spread in Southern China Artifacts Catalogue,’ and ‘Six Dynasties Art.’ Additionally, the museum has published a series of albums showcasing their collection of paintings, calligraphy, and seals, including ‘Changshu Museum’s Painting Collection,’ ‘Changshu Museum’s Calligraphy Collection,’ and ‘Changshu Museum’s Seal Collection,’ which have been released by major publishers such as Shanghai People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, Cultural Relics Publishing House, and People’s Fine Arts Publishing House.
Opening Hours: The museum is open Tuesday to Friday, and Sunday from 09:00 to 16:30; closed all day on Monday; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:00 to 16:30.
