Located in the core area of Longshan Forest Town, a provincial-level characteristic town in Zhejiang Province, the Changxing Huaxi Valley Scenic Area is situated in Meihua Valley, Longshanchuanbu Village. Renowned as the ‘Land of Longevity’, this area boasts clear waters, beautiful mountains, and blooming flowers all year round with a forest coverage rate of over 85%.
The scenic area covers more than 300 acres, integrating the appreciation of ancient trees, forest culture, and forest science popularization. The collections within the scenic area are treasures of nature, uncarved, unpainted, and in their natural state, each exquisite and unique. There are ‘sacred woods’ from Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Kunlun Mountains; ‘wave woods’ from the Changbai Mountain and the Songhua and Heilongjiang river basins; ‘ebony woods’ from the Emei Mountain area in Sichuan, dating back 6,000 to 40,000 years; and ‘fossilized wood and petrified jade’ from countries such as China, Thailand, and Malaysia, formed over hundreds of millions of years. Among them, there is one of the world’s largest petrified jade stones.
This is also the location of the national large-scale plum enterprise – Dongfang Meiyuan. Strange rocks and ancient plums are interspersed, with flowers and ancient trees complementing each other, meandering waters and ponds embellishing the scenery, and forest greenways surrounding the area, providing a tranquil retreat for people to return to nature. Walking through the international flower sea, where red plums, roses, and crape myrtles compete for beauty, is an unforgettable experience. In dialogue with the relics of nature, one can transcend time and space to feel the endless mysteries of the origin of life, the evolution of the Earth, and the cycle of forests.
