Chenxiang Pavilion, formerly known as ‘Ciyun Zen Temple’, spans an area of 2,378 acres and is a distinctive Buddhist nunnery. The pavilion houses the Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Jialan Hall, and the Memorial Hall for Master Yingci.
It is renowned for its enshrinement of the ‘Agarwood Guanyin’. The Guanyin Pavilion now houses the Ruyi Wheel Guanyin statue made from Haiqiong water agarwood donated by believers from Hong Kong. In front of the pavilion stands a four-pillar, three-gateway, double-eave archway inscribed with the words ‘Chenxiang Pavilion’, written by Sha Menghai. The Mahavira Hall features the ‘Huayan Triad’ in the center, with Vairocana Buddha at the center, flanked by Manjushri and Samantabhadra, and guarded by the deities Brahma and Indra. This type of arrangement is also rare in Jiangnan monasteries. The Guanyin Pavilion enshrines the Agarwood Guanyin, known as the ‘Ruyi Wheel Guanyin’. It is open all year round from 07:00 to 16:00.Chenxiang Pavilion
