The China Chemical Industry Museum, established in 2008, is a thematic museum located in Haidian District, Beijing, south of Peking University. It is dedicated to showcasing the development history and significant achievements of China’s chemical industry.

The museum comprises eight exhibition halls, including the序厅, Ancient Chemical Industry Hall, Modern Chemical Industry Hall, Contemporary Chemical Industry Hall, China National Chemical Corporation Hall, Future Chemical Industry Hall, and Chemical Industry and National Economy Hall, along with a multi-functional hall. Visitors can explore the history of China’s chemical industry through a vast array of texts, photographs, charts, models, and chemical artifacts.

The Contemporary Chemical Industry Hall highlights the development and brilliant achievements of China’s chemical industry since the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The China National Chemical Corporation Hall primarily displays the main products of its affiliated enterprises and introduces leading international chemical companies. The Future Chemical Industry Hall describes the development trends of the chemical industry in the future. Lastly, the Chemical Industry and National Economy Hall mainly exhibits the relationship between the chemical industry and the national economy and people’s livelihood.This is a highly specialized museum and usually does not attract many visitors. If you are interested in the chemical industry, you can visit by making a phone call or booking through the official website. Inside, you will gain a wealth of knowledge related to the chemical industry and see some valuable chemical literature. The museum is open all year round from Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 16:00. It is closed on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.
