When one thinks of Wuxi, the famous Da Afu comes to mind, a plump clay figurine symbolizing auspiciousness and joy. The Clay Figurine Museum is a museum that primarily exhibits Wuxi’s unique clay craftsmanship. Inside the museum, there are more than ten spaces including a preface hall, a Huishan clay figurine exhibition hall, a Chinese clay figurine schools exhibition hall, and a world clay culture exhibition hall. It houses nearly 5,000 classic pieces from various periods, sourced from 13 major clay figurine production areas across the country, such as Tianjin, Beijing, Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, and Guangdong. The museum displays the treasures of domestic clay figurine masters and concentrates on protecting and studying the clay art scattered among the people, allowing tourists from home and abroad to feel the artistic charm of the Chinese five-colored soil. The museum is open all year round from 07:30 to 16:30.
