Sheyang is a magical land. It is named after Houyi shooting the sun and becomes land due to Jingwei reclamation. The beautiful legend of Houyi shooting the sun endows Sheyang with profound historical and cultural connotations. The city sculpture of China Houyi Altar adopts modern hollowed-out relief technology. The altar is 20 meters high and the sphere has a diameter of 16 meters. The exterior of the sphere is made up of more than 1600 natural stones, and the interior is connected by steel frames.
The entire sculpture uses 870 tons of stone and 85 tons of steel. The surface of the sphere is dominated by Houyi shooting the sun, and embellished with Chang’e flying to the moon and cranes taking off. Each pattern is exquisitely carved and carefully calculated, seamless and without holes, as if made by nature. At the same time, 3600 energy-saving lamps are installed on the heat dissipation holes on the spherical surface. Against the background of the night, magical landscapes are transformed. In the bottom of the stone ball and among the peripheral flower beds, dynamic water pattern lamps are designed and installed.
