The China Lianghuai Salt Transportation Museum is located in Shi’erwei, YiZheng, a significant salt transshipment site during the late Qing Dynasty. The museum covers an area of approximately 2 acres and displays over 600 cultural relics related to the salt transportation of Lianghuai from ancient times to the period of New China. It is the only museum in China named after ‘salt transportation’.
The exhibition is divided into four major sections: ‘Huai Salt Transshipment, Long-standing History’, ‘Southeast Salt Capital, Beauty of the Profits’, ‘Gorgeous Transformation, Carrying Forward’, and ‘Talented People, Legacy of Benefits’. These sections vividly narrate the story of Huai salt, which is connected to the livelihood of thousands of families, and the Yangtze River, which has been writing the annals of thousands of years. The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-11:00 and 14:00-17:00.Must Read
