The China Lianghuai Salt Transportation Museum is located in Shitai, a significant salt transshipment location during the late Qing Dynasty, covering an area of approximately 2 acres. The museum displays over 600 artifacts related to the salt transportation from ancient times to the period of the People’s Republic of China, making it a unique museum named after ‘salt transportation’ in China.
The exhibits are divided into four major sections: ‘Huai Salt Transportation, Long-standing Heritage’, ‘Southeast Salt Capital, Beautiful Profits’, ‘Gorgeous Transformation, Carrying Forward’, and ‘Talented People and Beautiful Land, Legacy of Grace’. These sections vividly narrate the multifaceted history of Huai salt, encapsulated in the phrase ‘A history of Huai salt affects the taste of thousands of households, and the Yangtze River writes the history of a thousand years.’ The museum is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-11:00 and 14:00-17:00.China Lianghuai Salt Transportation Museum
